Cross Eyed was made for an exhibition in the French Institute Gallery in Edinburgh. The view from the first floor of the exhibition space across the city, the valley and the Dean Bridge was the inspiration behind the installation.

The impressive view is captured in two ways and installed within the gallery. First there is the table at the centre of the space, and on its surface the manipulated panorama photo of the view. Ten enlargements of photos of details of the view, placed behind curved glass, hang on the gallery's wall. These photos of details give the impression that they were made using the telescope on the balcony. The telescope enables the viewer to subject the actual view to further scrutiny and to compare it with the manipulated photographic images inside the gallery.
